BACKWASH

Backwashing is a Technique of Pool Water Filtration Service, So that the filter media can be reused. As the name suggests, backwashing involves reversing the flow of water through your filter media, be it AFM, sand, glass pearls or diatomaceous earth (DE). This dislodges dirt and debris that may have become trapped, and flushes it out through your multiport valve to waste.

The component we refer to as a "POD" is for a modern system of pool water supply or wasted water treatment. A typical sedimentation tank allows suspended particles to settle out water or wasted water as it flows slowly through the tank. The POD captures turbid pretreated water putting it into a suspension of time, thereby providing treatment.

Clear implies absence of cloudiness, haziness, or muddiness. Transparent water implies being so clear that objects can be seen distinctly. A set of principles or procedures according to which something is done; an organized framework or method.

The BeST Clear System follows the Environmental Protection Agency’s BMPs (Best Management Practices) by Recycling cleared backwash water through a process method already used for water sustainability in South Africa and Australia, where it has earned the Smart Approved watermark.

The Best Clear "POD" - Pool Water Recycling method saves (per pool) thousands of gallons of water cleaning media and cartridge filters per year, by preventing wasted water from heading down the street to storm drains, which leads to the rivers, lakes, and eventually the ocean.

The BeST Clear System "POD" will protect our sensitive groundwater aquifers, waterways and oceans from intrusion of metals like the toxic algaecide copper sulfate -- or salt, chlorine, acids and turbidity from a typical pool filter cleaning cycle. Environmental stewardship is key.

The BeST Clear System works with all existing media types of filters: SAND, GLASS, D.E. or CARTRIDGE, and brands Fluidra, Pentair, Hayward, Waterway, etc. As a result, you can confidently transition to BeST Clear System knowing that you will not incur additional costs based upon your system. It is a win-win for your budget and conservation.

The Performance of Best Clear System

To put it in the simplest of terms, The BeST Clear System actually works on the same ancient principle of decanting wine. Wine would be poured into a glass decanter or barrel, then the sediments would settle to the bottom. The BeST Clear System applies the same concept, but with water instead of wine!

Every 1-2 weeks, you first perform a visual inspection and recycle the cleared water in the "POD". Now you are ready for a normal service backwash or cartridge cleaning. The dirt laden turbid water fills The BeST Clear System "POD" flushed from the filter. The Supernatant will be ready to ReUse within 24 hrs to 7 days.

The water is then held in the Best Clear System for up to 7 days or until the next cleaning cycle is needed but a min of 24 hours. This allows the sediments and particles to precipitate/settle to the bottom of the POD.

The pretreated water in the upper 85% of the "POD" clears (Supernatant) and is recirculated back through the filter (recommended usage of AFM media) where it’s fine cleaned then returned through your existing purification system to the pool. The simplified cleaning of filtration and ReUse of pretreated pool water results in a consistently crystal clear, healthy, sparkling pool.
